SUMMARY

The Capture Manager is responsible for managing MD Helicopters, LLC pursuits of business opportunities across the public sector and militaries including managing the bid and proposal strategies from identification of the opportunity through award. The Capture Manager seeks out leads, when a lead is pursued, the capture manager oversees bid/proposal strategies, team members, pricing and more. A strong understanding and aptitude for project management, contract-development, and making proposals is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure that everything moves smoothly from bid/proposal to closing, selling opportunities internally in order to obtain necessary resources.

· Fully understand and be familiar with customers and their business.

· Review potential projects and competitors. Evaluate likelihood of success.

· Recruit and inform the capture team, setting schedule, and assigning tasks.

· Set strategy, evaluate budget, and timelines for selected proposals.

· Refine and progress the capture plan including analysis of company capabilities to customer requirements; establish bid/no-bid reviews and Bid Decision reviews; establish and maintain price to win including supporting analysis.

· Plan scheduled execution with appropriate milestones, monitor and report to management as required.

· Work with the Business Development Team to define Bid Strategies.

· Assist development of an Executive Summary draft to support proposal.

· Attend Business Development meetings (kickoff, status, approval etc.).

· Support proposal development and reviews.

· Identify the resources needed to pursue a business opportunity; oversee bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies; and manage the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award.

· Prepare the creation, management and distribution of targeted in-depth information and analysis of opportunities.

· Identify, qualify, research, build, and provide detailed analyses of assigned major government procurements and programs.

· Conduct competitive analysis.

· Collaborate strategies with the Proposal Team.

· Assist local teams with customer visits to MD Helicopters facilities.

· Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

· Experience with the US federal buying and procurement processes

· Existing relationships with Federal government contractors, preferred

· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain long-term partner and customer relationships

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, planning and problem-solving abilities

· A high level of self-motivation

· Excellent time-management, organizational and record-keeping skills

· Energy, enthusiasm and a team-focused mentality with proven abilities to work collaboratively and think strategically

· 1-2 years of successful capture experience, demonstrating ability to win new business opportunities

· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Demonstrated skills in communicating technical information to non-technical and technical customers, as well as how core technologies translate into customers’ critical capabilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university (business, marketing, aviation operations or similar discipline is preferred) and 4 - 6 years work-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

FAA certified rotorcraft rated pilot license is desired.
